Changes to Forum:
On the forum page you will now be able to see who has been active in the last 5 minutes on the website. It will also show the most people that have ever been online at once.
Forums can now be related to a specific game, which means if we have a Guild Wars 2 Forum, you would need to have Guild Wars 2 added as a game you play in order for you to create topics or respond to topics within the Forum. Everyone would still be able to see it.
Topics created will no longer have a generic icon to the left when viewing all topics, instead the user who created the topic will have his image to the left. It will also include a bubble showing whether the user is currently online.
Lastly, we'll be adding functionality for you to report a topic or a response. I hope that functionality won't be used as often, but it is functionality that would be required regardless.
The above will definitely be implemented or have already been implemented.
Changes that might be implemented (these are less important and will most likely only be implemented once Version 2 is complete):
Allowing you to subscribe to a Forum or Topic. Thus when a new Topic is created in a forum, or someone responds to a topic. You'll get a notification. This will be part of a Notification Post I'll make in the future, detailing exactly how it'll work. But currently the idea is that it'll show on site and/or send an e-mail. You'd have options to choose from, I.E. You could have an e-mail be sent out every X minutes (X being variable) with the collective of all notifications you have not yet seen, or sending an e-mail every time there's a notification (this will be spammy though).
Forum and Topic Slugs... A slug is essentially a short unique name that will be given to the forum or topic to make the URL look prettier. In other words, instead of having:
it would instead be:
This would essentially just make thing prettier, but also allow you to remember a url more easily.
Lastly ( all I can currently thing of ), Updated Meta Tags based on the page you're viewing: For those of you who don't know what this is, meta tags are used to help Google find your page/website. This will also be what is shown when you link an url on another platform. As in example if I copy/paste https://www.houndofabaddon.com/ into discord, this is what will appear
Now this is fine, however If I were to share a link to one of the events or to a forum topic, I'll see the same text, except the "Home | Hound of Abaddon" section would be different as seen below
